Chicago Architectural Boat Tour

Which company does the best architectural boat tour in Chicago?
Which ones are the best value for money? Which ones are rip-offs? Do any of them have a unique aspect that the others don’t?
Well, the Chicago Architecture Foundation has a pretty good tour (http://www.architecture.org/tour_view.aspx?TourID=8), although it’s a little pricey. Wendella is probaby the most popular and it’s a little cheaper (http://www.wendellaboats.com/chicago.htm), but it may not be as informative as the one run by the CAF. The guides on the Wendella tour are just reciting memorized scripts and probabyl can’t asnwer some of the more obscure questions about the buildings. The Shoreline tour (http://tickets.shorelinesightseeing.com/WebStore/Shop/ViewItems.aspx?Merchant=SS&CategoryGroupExternalID=1&CategoryExternalID=1) is about the same price as the Wendella cruise.
The Wendella and Shoreline tours are OK and may be the best value. But if you’re an architecture geek, the CAF tour may be the one for you.
