carpet for 14 jon boat?
i just bought a used 14 smokercraft aluminum jon boat and i want to put carpet in it. i was wondering what should be the right length and width for it i have the measurements but i was just wondering if someone did it before and knows how much they bought. And also i want to run it up the side and to the edges around the boat what kind of strip or seal could i use on the edges to make it look nice and keep the carpet from riding up in the edges
most boat carpeting is basically astro turf, old school fake grass.
astro turf is aviable in a variety of colors, not just green. and its pretty cheap.
just buy enough of it in slightly larger then the single largest width measurement and plan on trimming to fit.
i’d use the same edge capping i’d use if i was covering steps. just make sure you get brass or some other material that wont rust or corrode quickly in a moist outdoors enviroment.
original carpet in my boat is a brown with hint of black astroturf, 26 years old. getting to be in bad shape on corners where i routinely rest my feet, will add capping there whenever i replace it all.
